Blonde hair, to black....?

Okay well I have naturally platinum blonde hair. It's like, whitish blonde. It's also pretty long. I'm interested in dyeing semi-permanent black. Everyone is saying that semi-permanent will act as a regular permanent %26amp; that it will take a very long time to get out. What do you guys think ? Any personal experiences / professional advice is welcome.

Blonde hair, to black....?

I can relate to you very easily!!

I'm naturally a ash blonde, which is darker then yours slightly.

I've recently dyed my hair black and i love it but it does get a bit boring. As with brown or a darker blonde you could put highlights and they would look good and natural. But black highlights either look very fake or just plain bad. Your right semi-permanent does work like proper dye cause that's what i started with only it goes from the roots quicker.

I'm now saving up my 鎷?0.00 to get it re dyed to my naturally colour only i'm putting thin black highlights in it. Believe looks more fun and it's easier to change. Rather then having to go to a hairdresser to bleach it etc.

Also my hair is now severely damaged and bits fall out in the shower.

The hassle isn't worth the effort, belief me you will regret it!!

Also natural light blondes are getting rarer so i would keep it, at least then you can say your natural and it's all yours!! Something i'd wished i'd had done!!

i have black hair and trust me i would rather have any color but black. keep your natural things

I have dyed my hair twice black (I'm a natural brunette). It is pretty tough to take out, and if you're going to want to get it out, you're going to have to bleach it evenly and perfectly - maybe a professional hairstylist would do best for that. I tried to have friends bleach it so I could go back to brown, but my head ended up looking like a cheetah's back.

Be sure it's the color you want before you commit to anything. Hair dyes are often unpredictable, and make sure you have some back-up money in case things go disastrously wrong. Good luck, though.

You should do highlights carmel or medium brown. Going from platinum blond to black is like having AA one day and having double D's the next. Take it one step at at time plus you might not like it!

Listen to your stylist. You can't go back from black to platinum, or if you do, you can damage your hair and it will take forever. If you have long hair you will most likely have to bleach it out and cut some of it if you don't like it. Semi-permanent will act as a regular permanent but the shine and color won't last as long. You can't just wash out the black from your hair. I had dark brown hair and wanted to go platinum, which was a few shades lighter than my original color, and it took 4 bleaching and 6 toners to get it back to my normal color. I still had orange ends and my hair was so damaged at the bottom I had to cut it. So just be careful what you do. And anything dramatic like that you should have done in a salon. It will be worth the $ in the long run.

If you're going to dye it black then use two boxes of hair dye, it doesn't take very long for your hair to grow back. My friend accidently dyed his hair black and he has very whitish blond hair and it turned out bad becuase his hair was so light, use two boxes of dye and make sure it gets everywhere in your hair and sets in long enough and that's about it. If you're still worried about the dye being in too long, don't be cause it's not gonna be in your hair forever.

I am a haircolor distributor and in 10yrs NO ONE has ever ever asked me that ?...so withg that being said, I think the following is the rashest. The extremes between the 2 colors are too severe.

First off have it done professionally. Secondly do it in stages, in steps . You'll never ever get to that black color in one process. You have to go down one level to a 9 ( depositing warmer tones of blonds/browns) then to an 8( browner) until you get to 2n or 1n a black or blue/ black. The dangerous thing is is if you don't fill it, ( coloring or depositing the hair darker in stages) you'll end up purple and then have to spend about 5 hours and 4oo dollars to fix it.

Well this is the way to do it correctly ,,, unless you like that puirple look ;)..Good Luck

YOUR CRAZY IF YOU DO..BIG MISTAKE...You will end up with GRAY after a few shampoos...Ive experienced this problem through the shop and its not a pretty sight..your hair is whitish blonde? Im assuming you have bleached it out, or you have used a coloring on it. Am I right? All of the pigment is out of your natural hair shaft, and is just waiting for something to replace it..Hair acts like a sponge after its been bleached or colored.. Grabs the color right away...Trying to put pigments back into a drained hairshaft and having the color stick is impossible...Almost..its works for awhile, but as the hair fades you will get a muddy gray look..Then you will hate it and will be wishing you left it alone..

DONT DO IT!!!!! If you have never listened to anyone's advice in the past you need to listen to this. If you have light blonde hair and you put a semi-permanent black color in your hair you will be left with a horrible brownish-green cast on your hair. Why you may ask...well its easy. Remember coloring with crayons as a kid.....yellow and blue make green right? Right. Well check this out. Your naturally blonde hair has a naturally occurring yellow undertone in it. Most black hair color has a blue undertone in it. Get it...yellow and blue makes green. You will regret that you ever did it and then you will find yourself in a hair salon spending hundreds of dollars getting that green cast removed from your hair. If you want to find out for yourself snip and piece of your hair from underneath where you wont notice, apply the color onto this hair and process it normally. Wash this piece of hair a few times and you will see how your whole head would react to the color. Yuck!!

DO WHAT YOU WANT IN THE END. but if i were to say... no. dont go black. i dont think it looks good even if its done well. it looks fake, sorry to be so blunt but i think you need to know if you dont already. its not worth it. i only like the black hair when is real, br happy with your color. stay blonde, be proud. im blonde too. im proud. :)
