I have dark hair to. I have found that using a dark-medium red tone as well as a light brown and maybe a little medium blond all over your head should look really nice. Nothing to drastic if you go all blond might be too dramatic especially if you have had dark hair all your life. Maybe start off small then go bigger.

As far as cuts...Long layers are always a nice subtle change

you should layer it long and maybe highlight it a maroon color. black and maroon always look cute.

(if u dyed your hair black pleaz dont try to bleach your hair to do the streaks bcuz it will turn orange. that happend to me. unless you would like it that way.)

my son's girlfriend has olive skin, brown eyes and long, naturally wavy, naturally jet black hair. she has long layers and dark blue highlights. the blue really shows up in some lighting much more than others but her hair is beautiful. it was a good choice for her.
