Stop dying my hair and leaving it natural black?

For the last two years, I've dyed my hair red with those dyes bought at the stores. It showed up sometimes...but not a lot. It also fades really quickly..so much that it barely shows. From afar it just looks black, upclose dark brown, and inthe sun, reddish. With all this dying....it's also damaging my hair alot.

I'm asian and have natural black hair. Should I keep on dying it with hair store dyes (giving it a tint of red/brown) or leave my hair naturally black?

I am also an asian with natural black hair and I have dyed my hair reddish brown before. It showed because I did it at a salon. But it also damaged my hair and I have since decided to leave my hair naturally black. No matter how nice is the color, your hair wont look nice if it is not healthy.

Sooner or later, you're going to go back to natural anyway. Why not make it now.

Natural color is always the best.

I like natural hair color! And your fortunate its black, beautiful! Was curious how often you bleeched/dye your hair in the past two years and if its damaged, leave it alone, until it is restored, use a good conditioner, hot oil treatment. But give it a break until the damage has grown out and consult an hair stylist before continuing, you have to bleech it before applying any color and I would not recommend that if damage is showing and you may end up with a carrot-top color which then you will have to visit an stylist, anyway. Good-Luck!

if you still like the red, how about switching to red streaks/highlights? to get the red to stay, try bleaching it to an orange color, then add the red. You could also try the red color depositing shampoos. Try Sally's Beauty, they have a great Clairol Professional shampoo/conditioner for red heads. It's about $10 a bottle.

You can also get your red dyes at Sally's for cheaper than the boxed stuff. Mix 10 vol developer with the dye. With the bleach, mix 30 or 40 vol developer (since your natural hair color is so dark) with a bleach packet before adding the red)
