You need to dye it the lightest blonde color you can find wait a day or to and then dye it red!!!!!

Well I'm not a hairdresser! I'm not female either - so don't ask me how I know this! First bleach it to remove the black colour - then apply the red dye. Preferably leaving some time between the two. Maybe I once dated a hairdresser and the subject came up!

i have black hair and i dyed parts of it red. personally, it was a really bad decision to go to the hairdresser to get it done. cost me $225 yes... just for the dye. anyway, all you do is bleach it and then dye it red. just know that red comes out pretty fast...

Okay, you need to not leave color in your hair that long it will damage your hair. After 45 minutes it stops working anyway.

I suggest you go to a local beauty supply store. Choose a shade of red from the swatches and buy that bottle and a bottle of 40 volume developer. You will need to buy a plastic mixing bottle if you don't already have one. You put 2 ounces of developer in the mixing bottle (it's marked) and then pour the bottle of dye in over that and shake it up. Use gloves of course. You will have much better results and it's actually cheaper then buying a BOXED color.
