You're cute, but I think something lighter with some red undertones, might be a better solution. Black can be very harsh to some people's look. Also going back to a lighter color will be a harsh process on your hair.

Go try on wigs of darker colors first. You don't have to purchase the wig, just get ideas of what you'd really look like or go to a free site that allows you to load a pic of yourself into the software and change hair styles and colors. It's fun, entertaining, and gives you a good idea of what you'll look like.

I would work my way to black. Start with browns and go darker each time. Otherwise it will be a big shock to you when it is first black. I do think it could look good if done right and isn't one of those blacks with tints in them (like the ones that have blue tints and all)
