I dyed my hair perminant black last week and I have done it before and it always fades so badly! What can I do to make it last longer and not look like crap?? I bought the pantene midnight conditioner, but I was just wondering if you knew of any amazing products to keep it jet black. Oh and I straighten %26amp; blowdry my hair just about every day. keeping your color fresh looking all the time is hard...color always fades. stop trying to color it with permanent all the time b/c it will damage it or fry it. try using temporary colors from sallys like jazzinc or beautiful browns they have black and it has really good oils for your hair and it keeps it refreshed all the time.....

It is fading because you are heat styling so much with probably no protectant.
Use cold water when you wash your hair and when heat styling, if you must do it everyday, use a thermal protectant such as matrix sleek. This way it will help keep your color fresh.

Well my hair isnt black black but its pretty dark and my hair dresser gave me this conditoner called 'ARTec' (they have diff. shades for whatever color you need) and it helps from fading so quickly. But i dont know where you can get it..
