It depends , supposing you were to have a colour every six weeks, it is easily done in 6 months. Your stylist would start by increasing the black to a blonde and then i would suggest for a more natural colour, adding highlights until you reach the desired colour. The other alternative is to dye/bleach it , however i would not recommend this as it could react adversley with the previous colour, and has strong potential to loojk unnatural. Make sure you get an experienced stylist, the price tag is worth the avoidance of a disaster.

Good luck!!

ITS GON TAKE A LOT TO DO THAT,

YOUR HAIR COULD BREAK OFF FROM TOO MUCH CHEMICALS..

hair relaxing treatment before dying i must say.

your only option is to bleach your hair in order to get the desired look you want and you'd probably have to bleach it more than once (since your hair is black) which would damage your hair. after bleaching it you would have to use a toner which helps you get the exact shade of blond you want. when you go to sally's just ask one of the sales associates and they should be able to help you. you should also buy a cholesterol treatment for your hair to use after you bleach your hair which conditions dry, over processed hair

i did the same thing but with the help of my hairdresser, they had to completely remove the old colour first with very harsh chemicals. This was very very bad for my hair even though they knew what they were doing and were very careful.

It all turned out well in the end.

Go to a hairdresser!!!!!!!

If u only have 1 layer of black dye you should be ok bleaching it.

bleach is the only thing that will lift the black.

my advise would be to bleach it once. then wait a few days to bleach again. do this afew times until you have the desired shade of blonde you want.

invest in a good conditioning mask. "joico, k-pak reconstructer" is absolutly brilliant.

Bleaching would be the way, but please, take our advice, and go to a salon. Let a professional do it.

Oh wow, you will FRY your hair if you try bleaching from black to blonde at home!! =/ I think the best thing to do in your situation, is let it grow out! You can use a deep cleansing shampoo (clarifying) to help speed the process. But seriously, it's very difficult to go from black too blonde.

Be careful... Be patient.. =)

if u insist on not going to a salon for this procedure GOOD LUCK ... ive worked in 3 different salons and i recall many professional stylists that even refuse to do this for clients because it is too risky .. fortunatly for u im not one of them .. i have done this millions of times .. for others and myself .. u will need to pre lighten ur hair

with bleech and 40volume developer (up to 2 times no more) when u have finished pre lightening u will be most likely left with a gold orange color that is not even all over .. ur hair will now need to be filled and balenced by adding violets and blues in additives to counter react the gold and orange .. after ur hair is sucessfuly filled and balenced.. then u can add ur base color .. I HIGHLY DOUBT UR GONNA GET ANY WHERE NEAR BLONDE maybe lt to dk brown ... black is the most resistant color there is ...
