Born Blonde works well for dark hair, but they don't tell you the best way to do it. I recently went from jet black to almost platinum with this stuff.

You need to use a color remover while it's still black (color oops or something like that--there's usually like one box at the store and you have to look around for it).

Since you've already used it, get the color remover and use that first to get out as much orange left over from the black as possible. Leave it on a fairly long time (it's not as bad for your hair as regular lifters). After that, blow dry and then use the Born Blonde again. Wait a couple of days and then tone it with a semi-permanent blonde that has ash in the name.

You need to tone it with something ash because the purple and blue in it will counteract the red/orange tones.

If your hair is breaking or snapping, get Redkin's Extreme Anti-Snap. Also, hot oil treatments really help.

If your hair still has orange after, lighten it once a week (no more!) until you get the shade you like, but do it with a 20 volume peroxide and an ash toner. You can get these at a beauty supply shop, and you don't have to be a licensed hairdresser to buy it.

Just always remember that the most important thing you can do when changing your hair more than a few shades is to remove the old color before lightening!

it turned orange cause your hair was so dark before. but if you use an ashy brown you should be fine

Ha, that was stupid. Once you dye your hair black you CANNOT go back until it grows out. And obviously putting blond dye over black hair will turn it orange. Common sense. Your only choice is to dye it black again and just wait until it grows out or walk around with orangey hair until it grows out. It'll be really hard if not impossible to bring orange to a normal color.

I totally understand. Don't go back to black, instead use a dark brown (2 boxes) if your hair is long and/or thick. Leave on for an xtra 5 minutes that what th box suggests. Reason being is that you want to be sure that the orange is colored thoroughly by the new shade. Avoid going black at all times, unless you are doing it permanently. Reason being is that when you want to light the your hair color when you are wearing it black, you are seriously damaging because there are several colors in black that have to lift in order for the new color to take effect. That's the reason you got orange. Dont' worry, it's fixable.

If you want to do it right away, use Garnier Nutriesse. Use a medium brown. The ash will cover the orange. Stay away from the blondes. Even if it looks brown. You want Medium brown. Make sure to condition with the Avocado Oil conditioner afterward. I would actually leave the conditioner on all night in a plastic cap. Rinse it out in the morning.

You could alway use rinses to colour your hair until a manageable amount grows out, then cut off the portion that you dyed to begin with. Stop using all this crap on your hair it is not good for your hair or your scalp. I would start saving my money if I were you and go to a good professional who can hopefully save your hair. I fall else fails tomorrow is halloween so you have bought a couple of days.

In order to get your hair back to blonde from dyed black, you have to bleach it. Its alot harder to go back to blonde from black. You have to konw what your doing. You can go to a professional regardless of your age. It would just cost some money. I would recommend going back to black and saving money to go to blonde professionally
