Should i dye my hair black with red highlights?

I plan on cutting my hair which is half way to my knees into a middle of the back straight cut. My hair is naturally straight and i want to change the color, which is currently light golden brown with a little natural blonde. I was thinking black hair with red highlights because those happen to be my favorite colors. Should i go ahead with it? I plan on doing this by my birthday, which is in August.

i agree with ghetto love. Dont do jet black. If you're a blonde, you'll never get that natural color back if you hate the black. Also, dont do bangs. UGH! They're hard to manage, get in your face and take YEARS to grow out. Do a medium brown with red highlights like Kate Beckinsale's from the movie "Tiptoes"

i think that is a gothic idea try bside bangs with a short bug cut that is a inch lower than your shoulders then get a brown die and with a lighter highlites if you stick with this idea youll be thanking me while getting compliments

I dyed my natural blonde hair black and it looked fabulous so I'd say go for it! but the red hilights seem a bit too cliche "goth" (tacky). Be aware that it is EXTERMELY difficult to dye your hair lighter after it's been dyed black!
