for a start you haven't stated what your natural colour is and if your hair is currently coloured/bleached. ANY advice given at this point should be taken as null and void as without knowing the history of your hair me as a professional cannot help, so i will suggest you go to your hairdresser.

Schwarzkopf live hair colours do a good range of reds and I think they do black too. You can get some really great colours in that range but you'd be best to go a hairdresser if you are not used to doing your own hair at home.

been there and done that - its not a good idea really - black cannot be bleached out easily so you will be stuck with it until it grows out :
