I made a big mistake by dying my hair jet black! I am desperate, Does anyone know how to strip off the dye without damaging my hair? Please, I would appreciate any tips that anyone might have.

They don't advertise this but........... Use a shampoo product that is not for coloured hair has no organic ingredients or something of the sort and you will find that your hair will get lighter. It doesn't happen over night though

Nope sorry u just have to let it grow out, the dye will eventually weaken and some of ur old color might come out and even things out.

At this point what u dont wanna do is immidiately re-dye your hair that would damage it like crazy.

DO NOT try to strip it yourself with drugstore products... your best bet is to go to a salon that is experienced in this! Even then, it will damage your hair a lot... but the salon can do some deep conditioning and recommend a product for deep conditioning after they do it. It is also the most permanent color for hair dye and doesn't wash out or fade out as easily as other less harsh colors, even if you use regular shampoos. If you don't want to damage it at all, wait for it to grow out?

You absolutely have no other option but to see a reputable colourist. There is no product available to consumers that you can obtain to correct your colour. DO NOT attempt to correct your colour at home in your bathroom despite what anyone tells you. Black tint must be removed with certian products and timing is key. i dont have black hair but i have very very dark reddish brown hair. and i hate it too. the best thing to do is wash it three times a day with cheap shampoo and be patient. never never bleach your hair yourself ... it will fade eventually made you will see a differnce in about a month.... but whatever you do please dont get it bleach either by a professional or yourself.the bleach will damage your hair and it will be nasty.... i am doing the same thing right now.

I really hate to tell you this, but you can't. Do not do it at home, because you will regret it. Even if you go to a salon, and they do bleach it, they cannot guarantee the outcome. If anything, they MAY be able to put highlights in it, which still requires bleach, and overlay the highlights with a caramel colour to lighten the look of it.I hope this helps.
