my daughter came home from school today saying that black hair can not be on humans it is really just dark brown that looks black i think she is wrong what do you think help end our fued thanks

in my years of doing hair i have never seen true black hair... black hair has with blue or voilet tones...i have never seen natural hair like that

I think your daughter may be right, most of the hair that you see is "black", is probably out of a bottle or from dying their hair.

we can really have black hair. My hair is dark brown and my sister's hair is black. You can definitely tell the difference. It's the eyes that can't be black.

dark brown hair has warmer gold or red tones in it, but more than a fifth of the people in world (many of them living in a little place called asia) typically have very dark hair with blue or violet tones. we traditionally it "black" and i'm not sure how you could pass it off as any type of brown.
