Not all African Americans are dark skinned with really dark hair. I myself am African American, have very light skin, light brown/blonde hair and my eyes are hazel. Neither my parents or grandparents are white.

Just because you have lighter colored hair and eyes doesn't necessarily mean that one of your parents or grandparents are white. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't either. You could be mixed with something other than white and have those features as well. One way to tell would be by looking at the texture of your hair, Is it really curly and thick or is it somewhat straight?
