i wanna get purple streaks, no bleaching, can u tell me a brand of temorary hair dye and the website.

and if u did this before give tips!

You can try a kit from the drug store like walgreens, but it would help if you did bleach the strands. I once helped my friend put pink in her hair and she had black hair. It worked but we needed to put it on longer so make sure you put it on for the time it said and maybe a little longer (if it tells you not to exceed so many minutes DON'T go over that time.).

I'm sorry I don't know what brand it was but it's at walgreens.

i dont think it's possible...you probably will have to bleach because black hair is highly pigmented....meaning it has a lot of color as opposed to blond hair is less pigmented. i tried dying my friends hair a cranberry color once and it didn't work because she has black hair.

Yeah, I don't think it will show well b/c of the color of your hair, but maybe you can get extensions. This woman at a salon I went to a few weeks ago got red extensions and it only cost her like $10. Good Luck!

I'm about to do the same thing , but dye my ends purple. To be honest bleach is the only way. I have black (afro) hair and it won't show at all seeing as purple ain't really bright. On the other hand you can get the lightest shade of purple which be lilac-ish colour and it might show up a bit in the sunlight good luck :)

if you dye your purple then it will be like a purple wash and you will only see it when its really sunny...the only way is bleaching....or getting live xxxxxx or something in asda with is permanent and the equalivilent of bleaching....basically you cant

Actually I Used Violet haircolor(Which is Purplish) on my whole head and I didn't have use bleach, and i have dark hair...Anywho.

If you have dark hair and are dying it with semi-permanant or demi-permanant hair dye, it will hardly show up at all. Semi- and demi- dyes kind of blend with your original hair color, so dying streaks purple in black hair will really only tint those streaks, and probably won't be noticable at all unless you're in the sun.

Bleaching is a better way to go for streaks, and it's not that difficult. If you bleach streaks of your hair, it will make the hair dye last much longer. When bleaching, you are stripping your hair of its natural pigmentation and inserting a new one, which is why the purple would show up so much better if you bleached it. And once the purple washes out, which will probably be in a couple of months, it should be easy to dye those streaks black again to match your natural hair color.

You can pick up both purple hair dye and a bleaching kit at Hot Topic, either in person or from their web site. I personally use Special Effects, which I believe to be the best brand out there. I wouldn't really go with Manic Panic, another brand, as that tends to give you a lamer color and washes out far too quickly. Make sure that when you buy the hair dye, no matter if you're bleaching it or not, you also buy a tinting brush. It's just a tool used to make the dye go on much easier, and they're generally pretty cheap.

If you do decide to bleach streaks of your hair, DO NOT apply the conditioner afterwards that comes with the bleaching kit. It will close off your hair to any more color products, and the purple will not penetrate the strands as well.
