I'm going to help her do her hair is this possible? I know it will take a couple stages and won't happen over night, but eventually is it possible?

its possible.....but u will need to dye ur hair more than one time.....and it won't come out to be exactly platinum blonde....it will be a little darker

I would leave this one up to the professionals (unless you are a professional), unless she wants a bright orange and possibly fried 'do. I have very dark hair, and for me to go blonde without being orange, they have to completely strip (bleach it so its almost white) at the salon, then put a toner in to get the color I want. It really strips your hair, and damages it either way. I would just suggest having this done professionally. It may cost a bit more, but its better than being orange and completely fried!

Yes you need to get the hair dye remover that takes hair color out first - you can get it at the drug store, and then go light brown and then blonde. The hair dye remover will probably take the dyed black to an orangeish color - thats what happened to me! But I had no problem going to blonde from there!

yep its possible. you just have to gradually go to lighter and lighter colors. try and use sun-in in between dyings.

well i dont think you can do it yourself, becasue you could end up turning it orange, i think that if you go to a salon they can put some stuff in your hair to wash out the black, then bleach it, then dye it, but it takes a while i think.

Yeah it's possible, but with lots of damage. This job is best left up to the pros... home dye is strong enough to turn hair orange but not strong enough to get it light yellow, and semi-permanent home dyes don't stick... just don't do it.

Yikes!!!! Your friendship may be in trouble if the hair color doesn't turn out right. Your friend should go to a pro to get her hair colored.(black to platinum....very extreme)
