i wanna dye my hair black on the top and blonde on the bottom i wanna do something crazy with my hair for once cuz im going to a concert on may 26 and all my friends are gonna be there i havent seen them since january and my friends are in bands and they want me to go to support them so i wanna look crazy but good at the same time

I love the way it looks but it would be extremely difficult to do! The black may bleed on the blond and look really bad. i say the best solution would be to get blonde extensions sewn on the bottom. I know at my salon we charge $30 a row and you would only need 2 or 3 rows at the bottom to get the look your going for. fun temporary fix and you could even add a little length if you wanted to! Ive done it before for a photo shoot and it looks good. heres a pic, (sorry its black and white).

don't do it! it is extremely difficult to change it after it's done and if you don't like the black/blonde mix, you will have to dye your whole head black. then you will have to wait for it to grow out or be prepared to spend a lot of money getting it fixed by a professional.

i know from experience...i tried to have blonde on top with black underneath...it went bad and turned grey. i didn't have time to get it fixed before my wedding so i dyed it all black. it's been a ***** getting rid of it.

if you want to do something cool for the concert, get some temporary dye that washes out the next day. you'll be much happier.

Don't do that....its hard to have highlighed hair on the bottom..The black color will stain the blonde hair and it will look a MESS.

That is permanent and will damage your hair. Not to mention you will look like the lead singer from the 80's band Berlin "Take my Breath Away" in Top Gun. Why dont you try the hair pieces they sell in the drugstore and some of the hair mascara wands to get a funky crazy look that you can wash out and remove after the concert and not give your poor mom a heartattack. PS do you want to look like that or have to cut off all your hair for the summer?

Black hair color is very difficult to get out. If you want the black outta there. You'll most likely have the best luck bleaching it out. I would go to a salon for this. Most salons also have a product that basically erases color from your hair. It's harsh but it works. Home bleach kits don't always work, and if it does you'll prolly end up with orange hair.

As for colors that would suit you. You say you have a cool skin tone, but then you say its naturally bronze which is a warm tone. So if its cool like you say then cooler shades of reds, browns would look nice. Warmer skin tones look best in golden and firery red tones such as golden blondes or golden browns etc...

Good luck getting that black outta your hair. I know its not fun. But if you take the right steps it will work out fine.

well you have to get the black color "stripped" out. Thats what the people at the beauty salon call it. I think they bleach all your hair until its one color then they dye it whatever color you want. The mistake was dying it black. You can always dye it dark brown and then color it lighter and everything will be fine. But with black its always very hard to get the black out. Either you can get the color stripped or you can keep on coloring it until your hair gets lighter and lighter... very long process.... you should REALLY go to a hair salon and they will give you advice on what you should do.. They will also tell you what color will look good on you!

Your going to need to lift some of that black out. If you use a lighter color it wont lighten the black out. It will just lighten the virgin out growth. There is this product called color fix it's about 12.00 and can be bought at Sally's. It lifts any color deposits in your hair, so try it first, you will like it. make sure you do a deep conditioner after too. and from now on don't go to dark, its hard to lift that color out, unless you bleach your hair and that ruins it more. If all fails go to a professional salon and have them fix it.

You can buy a stripper for your hair at the store. My hair did ok when I did it to strip red out of my hair but some girls I know have really fried thier hair doing this so you have to be careful. You should be warned to that you are stripping all the pigment out of your hair and the new color you put on it will have a tendency to fade out faster. I would sugest going t a salon. I have always heard that the best color for your hair to be was the color that it was when you were a child I'm not sure if this is correct or not but just an even color is more important now.

About two weeks ago me and my two friends decided it would be fun to dye the bottom of our hair black, so that its auburn (for me) on top and black on bottom. It's supposed to come out in 28 days, and I think that's semi-permanent, right? What can I do to speed up the process?

Don't, whatever you do, use a hair stripper. You will ruin your hair. A stylist told me to use mayonaise to help wash out some of the black, it will help fade it without using bleach, but it won't rid it entirely. Don't put it on your roots, just the ends and wash it out thoroughly. Be more careful with your hair. Remember: NOTHING covers black; or lifts black without using a chemical that will damage your hair.

I did the same thing. I dyed my hair from brown to black. It was supposed to come out in 8-10 washes, but it never did. I went to several salons to see if they could do something about it and all of them told me that unfortunately, black dye never comes out totally even if it is supposed to wash out. The solutions that were advised to me by them are either to strip it, which will take out ALL the color of your hair, then you'll need to re-dye it to your natural color or whatever other color you want. Or you can do all-over highlights until it gradually goes back to the original color.

I think black hair would be striking with your skin tone and eyes. You need to make sure and do it right. Why not try with a color that is semi-permanent before you take the deep plunge? Then you could just 'date" the color. I did that when I colored my hair a shade of red. It doesn't give you exactly the same results, but you do get a little bit of an idea of how you will look.

Haircolor will not lift out artificial color. You will need a bleaching or color removing product. You can still give it time and see how much more color will fade before you do it. Go to a Pro, you can get it to a red stage again.

Natural black hair is awesome! I really don't dig very contrasting highlights with it though. Black hair can have a wonderful luster, so I suggest something that might bring out that luster, like a dark orange/red crimson or a shiny hazelnut brown or walnut...... it won't show up to much, but it will make your hair shine!

most of the time, people do streaks in yellow. red on black looks really good, but I don't know if that'd be professional enough. Brown on black is pretty subtle for professionals though

But at a high school reunion last year, I met an older lady that had black hair and had red/burgundy highlights in her hair and they were beautiful. Id would definitely go to a salon and get it done and DO NOT bleach your whole hair blonde it will ruin you hair and grow out so fast you will be constantly having to get your roots done.

I have highlights but the hairdresser puts the odd 'bleach' highlight through this really brightens it up and its in small quantities so wont damage your hair. Also with highlights your roots wont notice so much so you can get it done less.

The only thing with highlights is that its not an instant effect - the first time you have it done it gives a more 'sun kissed' look but the more you have put in the lighter and blonder it goes.

I have been having mine highlighted with a few bleach ones put in for 2 years and its now pretty much blond without the 'tacky' yellowly bleached look.

Just highlight because bleach will dry your hair out really bad. My friend wanted to have that bleached blonde look and she fried her hair with bleach. It was below her waist, now she had to cut it up to her ears because she couldn't comb it without it breaking off and coming out.

it depends a lot on how course, or how thick around the hairs are, bleaching seems to be the only option for black hair. Don't wash it for as long as possible before you use the product, the natural oils in your hair will help protect it through the bleaching process. You may find the roots will "come up" first, that means get lighter before the rest of your hair, this is due to the heat from your scalp activating the product, start %26amp; apply it about 1/2 to 1 inch away from your scalp. Be careful some speed bleaches say don't get product on your skin at all. Follow directions closely, because these type of bleaches can cause your scalp to blister or burn. Leave it set on the lengths of hair if it is longer, for about 15 minutes then place it on you roots. Remember if your hair is unhealthy or color treated you may not want to damage it with this type of product. It is very drying and damaging, if you overlap the bleach when you reapply it will cause it such damage that it could break off where the overlapping occurs. DON'T BLEACH DRY DAMAGED COLOR TREATED OR PERMED HAIR. GOOD LUCK

Don't go all blond if you are dark! It will not look good against your skin tone or your eyebrows. Bleach will dry out your hair and make it fall as well. You will have to get your roots done every month if you don't want to look like trailer trash. There is nothing cheaper than a badly done blond. Go for honey or copper highlights and add to them over the next few months. It will look much better. Also be aware that a change in hair colour often also means a new wardrobe as colours that suited you before may not look good anymore. Think carefully.

Don't bleach it! The change will be do drastic %26amp; you will look trashy, I think. Blonde highlights might even be too much [on dark brown - black hair]. I advise getting like thin caramel - honey highlights, %26amp; after that you can lighten up gradually %26amp; it won't be so sudden.

I think you should just highlight and maybe with some red tones, because it will look more natural. There is nothing as ugly as black hair groving, when the rest of your hair is bleached. If you have a lot of money thought, you can go to a hairdresser every 2 weeks, and it is gonna look good.

Natural black hair is awesome! I really don't dig very contrasting highlights with it though. Black hair can have a wonderful luster, so I suggest something that might bring out that luster, like a dark orange/red crimson or a shiny hazelnut brown or walnut...... it won't show up to much, but it will make your hair shine!

Red wont show up on black hair, the only times its ever visible past the 1st 2 or 3 days is in the sun. Plus, blonde last along time compared to red wich last about 2 - 4 weeks depending on the amount you wash your hair. I would get your hair bleached highlights and a few weeks after get those bleached strans dyed red with a few slim magenta streaks just to prolone the color.. they will last alot longer but still they wont last for a long time.

Nothing wrong with haven a little junk in your trunk! One way to not look too goth is of coarse getting a Tan! If you like dark colors try dark blue or green. Any color looks great on a tan. Deep purples? I would have to see what you look like to really help out. Just limit the black. Wear it its slimming but make sure to throw some color in with it. If the outfit has mostly black throw on a bright red belt and shoes! That will spice up your out fit and take care of the :"goth " look! :)

Try something more feminine. Black dresses and skirts can slim you if you choose carefully. Stay away from the hot topic style pants and over sized shirts; they don't hide chub. You'll end looking like you're trying to hide it and are self conscious about it.

Sounds to me like you are gothic at heart. stick with what you know. Be who you are or change your hair back. especially if you are fair skinned, you will always look gothic if you have black hair.

If you want to start looking "nice", then drop the gothic look all together. You might be at that transition point.

Nothing wrong with haven a little junk in your trunk! One way to not look too goth is of coarse getting a Tan! If you like dark colors try dark blue or green. Any color looks great on a tan. Deep purples? I would have to see what you look like to really help out. Just limit the black. Wear it its slimming but make sure to throw some color in with it. If the outfit has mostly black throw on a bright red belt and shoes! That will spice up your out fit and take care of the :"goth " look! :)

There's more than one possible explaination here. One of them is that I'm convinced that a lot of dark northern europeans are just that way because they don't fit the steriotype. Maybe some of those dark cave ancestors just never happened to mutate into blue eyed blonds, and they passed on their genes. There's also a number of Irish people who carry Spanish or Basque genes. They could also have the genes of Roman invaders. Another possibility is if you're North American, you could have some black haired ancestor from another race or nationality that you don't know about yet. Even if it's a small percentage, your hair could be a trowback to that ancestor.

no. i know people who have done it, it dries out your hair and it takes hours for the color to develop. it's really inefficient. it's also advertised as semi-perminant, but it didn't wash out of my friend's hair. if you go to salon they can get a great color for you. there are new products out there that also don't dry out your hair! ask about loreal professionnel ammonium free-platinum. you can use that to lighten your hair to lighten it where you want highlights. after that they'd cover up the highlights with a semi-permanent brown. if you only dye it with one color, it will come out kind of orange, so making it too light (stripping the hair of any color) and then adding back in the color you want is the best route. here is a link to the lightener that i'd used and am referring to.
